OK, whatever. He is more than a nuisance, he is a criminal if he is throwing bricks at people. And seems like he gave up his "human rights" when he decided to be said criminal. Sheesh, why didn't he just ask to be allowed to walk away? We wouldn't want to get in the way of his "rights" to do whatever he wants.

why couldnt they say "turn yourself in and you'll get food"? Is the world insane? The criminal is responsible for his human rights--Give up and you can have some healthy prison food!

Having stood by for many jumpers, it is very common for the negoiater to offer food or drink, it's part of the bond forming process and if they accept generally means they will end up complying with the officers. Pretty normal practice everywhere I have heard.
You guys fail to see the beauty of this. The Brits decided on a Tactical Cholesterol Intervention. Instead of shooting him, they are building up his arterioeschlerosis and he will eventually die of a heart attack. Peaceful end to the stand.
Man, I do need to go to bed.....
