Thumbs down Job offer falls through, hopes and morale destroyed.

Well, we will not be moving to Nashville. We were waiting to hear from my wifes employer to see if there was a job for her over there and they just kept dragging their feet on getting back to her. They finaly called Friday at 5:30pm and Monday I found out that the station who wanted me to come work for them offered the job to someone else because I was taking too long. They offered the job to the other person at 3pm Friday. 2 and a half hours before my wife's company got back to her. The jackasses.

I found out today that the other person accepted the job offer and so, we are not moving to Nashville. We are stuck here near Memphis with the 2nd highest crime rate in the country.

I hate the company my wife works for.
Needless to say, neither of us is very happy at the moment. We were very much looking forward to the move. She likes mountains, it was closer to family. Just an al around cruddy day here.

Well, that sucks. Maybe something better will come out of this though. Keep your chin up and hang in there.

Sorry to hear about that. I know that you were ready to move. It sucks to get your hopes up just to have them squashed.

Take your wife out to dinner and have a nice night out. Decompress a little.

Keep looking and get the hell out of there ASAP.

As I said before, you are more than welcome here.

It's difficult when plans fall through but it is often because they weren't meant to be.
You were 50/50 about moving here, I do recall that Nashville didn't impress you at times. Now although your neighbors are annoying you and life at work isn't great you do have good reasons to stay put, and if you do decide to try again to move then next time it could be a lot easier and fall into place for you.

Have a drink and sit back, we'll do our best to cheer you up.

This happened for a reason. A better opportunity is right around the corner.

I'm not really too depressed about it. I was being a little tounge in cheek when I posted this thread. But, I am not happy about it. Things at work aren't the best but they could sure be worse.

I'll keep looking. This particular off was just about perfect though. My wife is from Mobile Alabama and I am from middle Indiana. I-65 runs through Nashville and goes both places. And, there was in fact a job she could just transfer into, ready made with no loss of income for her. It just sucks that they didn't get back to her sooner.

    Oh well.....I'll be OK.

Sympathies Mike - that sucks. Some cruel bad luck.

    Thanks everyone. I'm over it.

But a part time job like the one Lima has would help a lot. Maybe I'll look into that.

Probably of little comfort, but it sound like your current location can't afford to lose guys like you that keep the scales of good and evil in balance.
