Originally being from the PRC (California) I don’t remember that, but it was a hoot thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Glad you enjoyed that, Mark. Ray Wiley Hubbard, Jerry Jeff Walker, Michael Martin Murphy, Gary P. Nunn (featured in my "What I Like About Texas" post), Steven Fromholz, and Willie Nelson were all part of the great progressive country music scare back in the late 70's. Their tradition has carried on for years and influenced lots of singer/songwriters and musicians.

Ray Wiley Hubbard, is known for his signature song, "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mothers", which Jerry Jeff Walker made into a hit. Ray has said that it's not melody, lyrics, or harmonies that you have to consider most when writing a song, but what do you want to be identified with for the next 30 years. But then he cashes the royalty check and smiles.

Nice to take a little stroll down amnesia lane every now and then.
    Cheers,
    Rod
