When I was in Police Academy back in 1989, autos were just starting to come on the scene. My custody control (self defense) instructor carried a Glock 17. His motto concerning dealing with bad guys was "If you can't knock 'em down - Glock 'em down!"

    I've always used that statement.

Mine is probably self evident - except that it is way outa date. I should be SIG226STCarry these days!

Oh well - it's too late to change now all these years later!

pax is the Latin word for peace.

I've used it since I first came online years n years ago. The name is a constant reminder to me to be more of a peace maker than I am by nature. It's also appropos because I believe that without armed citizens able and willing to fight, no country experiences peace for very long. Finally, it's appropos because I want my life to be a life of peace. My fervent wish in carrying a gun is that I never have to use it, and the name pax symbolizes that hope for me.

Why, It's a big part of why I choose to carry. My significant other is the other major reason.

    Pretty simple.

It means "The Spy" in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish (plus a few other languages such as German and Russian)

I did a one year tour in Bosnia where I worked and lived with the Scandinavian forces in Doboj. I was the liaison to the US Division in Tusla. I got the job because I have Scandinavian language skills; Danish, Norwegian, Swedish. I aaaaaaaa.... errrrrrrrrrrrr... ummmmm somehow forgot to tell them that when I first arrived in the base camp and when I let the cat out of the bag after some days they called me the Spy or "Spionen" in Scandinavian. Great bunch of people by the way.
