He's a resuce, was a bait dog to to teach dogs how to fight. Great with kids, but strange adults not so much.

This is Brooklyn. She's a Pit Bull / Bullmastiff mix according to her DNA test. She's getting a little old, but still as lovie as ever. She's been great with kids, animals, and strangers but is quick to put herself between a member of her "pack" and danger.

I have six rescues. Two Catahoula Hounds, two pitbull mixes, a rottweiler, and a Shepherd mix. The two Catahoulas, Dasher and Chester were only a few weeks old when someone dumped them near a busy four lane highway. The three-legged pit bull was left at the vets office after the owner backed over him in a car. They didn't have money for the vet bill. The Rottweiler was a foster that has seizures and I fell in love with him and didn't want to give him up. The Shepherd was dropped outside the shelter and he's flaky. He is scared of being confined or restrained and will bite if he thinks you're trying to restrain him. He's very smart, but takes some getting use to.

Ellie Mae. The most useless of Bloodhounds. Well, she isn't completely useless, because I can always use her as a bad example.

But she is the sweetest coward that ever bayed at squirrels in a tree.

Sydney, the world's most laid back Australian Shepherd, which makes him a perfect service animal for my wife. When he's"in uniform" with his vest, he's all business in helping her get around with her low vision condition; off duty he transitions into "just a dog" mode, and at 85 lbs with a bark to match he's an excellent early warning system. Even when off duty, he's still very protective if the Mrs.

My first line of home defense..early alert,,and if you want to make entry your in for a fight. Belgian/West German hard working line pedigrees. Spend as much if not more training with them than with my guns. Have had Shepherds all my life, but more than their work ethics they are our kids. Loved, spoiled rotten, and loyal family companions.

My best bud Echo... A rescue Irish Terrier my wife picked, but he decided to adopt me instead. Probably named Echo by the shelter we got him at because his bark echos in your head. A great watch dog. He barks at everything.

    Red face

We've had several over the years, but here are the current three, all are about 40 pounds, and 3 or so years apart:

I miss our GSD, and our Dobie. I like larger dogs.
