This is George.. He was a rescue from an abusive home...Sadly about 6mos after these pics were taken he was critically injured in a botched home invasion/Burglary... When I got home from work he was still guarding the busted open front door... Putting him down was the single most painful thing I have ever done... But KUDOS go out to the Emergency Vets over at Alameda Pet Hospital in Denver... Our local vet couldn't do anything but sedate him while I rushed him there. They spent 7 hours trying to repair the damage that the BG did but the internal injuries were beyond repair. But the BG is currently serving 5-7 years for burglary because in his flight from the scene he lost so much blood that he passed out and wrecked his vehicle.

Gunner...that made me cry. It is always tough to lose a beloved and loyal friend. There should be a special place in Hell for a BG like that....close to the flames and these guys.

Great story and an even better dog! Here's a picture of our German Shepherd, Rio. My wife and I are HUGE GSD fans. He was a rescue dog as well and has been by far the most loyal animal I've ever had living with me.

    Me again! More bugs!

More subjects presented today. Bee was busy on some Echinacia, a spider was resting! ..... and a Praying Mantis turned up on my siding ... so some pics were in order.

My dog Katie...also known as Rita, my wife didn't like the name, is a rescue from Hurricane Rita. I'm the tall guy in the back. http://www.weather.com/blog/weather/8_7627.html I tell everyone Katie is my Free dog The hip surgery was steep, blew all the overtime I earned on that trip. As you can see the surgery didn't slow her down, not bad for a dog with no right hip joint.

I'm home and getting settled in at my new home with my son. I've never been a huge cat fan. They have to have that certain something. Well I now have a certified attack cat. Tiny Tim is just several months old and he spends his days pouncing on me and attacking my feet from ambush. Sometimes I can't resist getting out the laser for him to chase, it gives me some relief and helps run his battery down so we both can take a nap. Coming soon pictures of Hypno our 3' Ball Python. She's real sweet and laid back.
