    lunar moths

When I worked for the Ford dealership, you could look in the bed of nearly every truck on the lot, each morning, and find one or two lunar moths. They'd soak up the heat that the truck absorbed during the day, and since we parked them near the grass, they always collected moisture. The largest one I saw was about 8 inches, tip to tip, at rest. I picked him up and I swear it was like holding a hamster.

    Arg...

This thread is now dead to me, I have but one phobia in life, I'm not scared of heights, snakes, enclosed spaces, clowns, any of the usual rational ones...

But I have a wholly irrational phobia of moths.

They make me freak out, I'm sure if there were such a thing as moth shooting I would be useless at it, my hand would be shaking too much...

    I have no idea why.

That's okay Pete, I'm the same way with spiders. I take care of home invaders, rabid animals and PO'ed space aliens ... spiders are my wife's responsibility.

Both of you are like little schoolgirls, holding up your skirt and going "EEEEEEE!!" while stomping your feet...

...then again, I have a severe dislike for stinging and parasitic insects, such as mosquitoes, ticks, wasps, and the like, so who am I to poke fun?

I just got back home and I was looking out in the back yard when I saw a flurry of avian activity.

    A blue jay:

There was a catbird, but it was hidden in a tree and I couldn't get a pic of it before it flew away.

It's always good to have a plan. :)

Here are my poor attempts, various animals.

At the Hermitage, no-kill cat shelter in Tucson. All of our cats came from there, great place, great story.

And this one is Mikhail, (the grey tiger, yes, named after Mikhail Kalishnikov), and Star hangin on the kitty tower.

Sam, (left), and Snickers. Sadly, Sam died from cancer just a month ago. Snickers was unconsolable for a while.

Mikhail in a favorite pose - he is SURE he's a dog.

Boots Kitty hangin' out on the washer. He has good taste in boxes. He is 100% my wife's cat. Never seen a cat love so much.

Miss Kitty with Mosin M-38. She is also no longer with us.

And last, an advertising idea I sent to CZ-USA, which they liked. My puppy finally gets famous.

OMG, that is material from one of my worst nightmares. I hope those two don't get hungry one night and have you for a snack!

All kidding aside, a guy I knew in college had a boa (I think it was smaller than yours though. Lancelot looks pretty dang big.) and it was always good quality entertaiment to go to his dorm room and watch that bad boy eat......
Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!

Well this cat is not mine but it has a little story behind it.

I was in Mississippi visiting with my mom on the gulf before the big storm and we went to a cemetery to look at the old headstones.

This cat kept following me and mom could not even get close to it. It only stuck around me. Anyway, we started to the truck and the cat was following me and there was just grass all around. As soon as I stepped off the grass and onto the pavement I looked around for the cat and he was gone.

I mean nowhere to be found and no place to hide for about 30 yards.

I call it the Ghost cat. LOL.

    What's with cats and 7.62 x 39?

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.
