One year ago to now....
One year ago......
Here are a couple of pics, the one whee I am wearing a red T-shirt is from a year ago. The one of me in the Blue T-shirt is this year, last week during the Memphis in May BBQ fest. These pictures were take exactly one year apart.
I think I look a little better now than I did then.......but I may be a little biased. :biggrin2:

By the way, I went from a 3xl shirt to a medium....the blue one I have on in the picture is actually a large and much too big for me but I wore it because I knew I would be working outside and getting dirty (which I did, very dirty) and didn't care if it got dirty or ruined.

Mike - you are without doubt two different people!!! :smilez:
You deservedly celebrate your achievement and I can relish that even from here!! Atta boy :smilez:
-
Outstanding job Mike! I did notice white socks in the top pict, but no sandals, so...
-
Great job. Healthy sure feels better, doesn't it.
-
Healthy feel 1000% better than I ever would have imagined Rocky. And I'm not done by a long shot. I am still working out every night and lifting weights is now a huge part of the work out. I have put on roughly 20 pounds of muscle and still hover around 160 to 165.
I encourage everyone out there who needs to get into shape to stop making excuses and just do it. You will love the way you feel and in short order, also the way you look. I actually got hit on several times by young ladies at the BBQ fest this year. And they weren't drunk before anyone asks.....:scruntiny: That's a real ego booster for sure.

Wow, good job friend. Loosing weight is one of the hardest things to do.
-
Congrats on the weight loss. You definately look like a different person.
-
Good job Mike, keep it up.
-
That is truly an amazing transformation.
And seeing both pics - one right after the other really drives the point home.
It's is incredible how you really stuck with it and you are a completely different looking person.
You are for sure going to be a great inspiration to other members here who could stand to lose a few.
I tend to put weight on in the winter and I still need to drop about 20 or 25 good ones.
Luckily I'm still in good basic shape but, I get lazy in winter and by spring it sure shows.
I'm working on it now and so far have dropped 5#.
I could lose more quicker if I would just eat like a normal person. :hand5:
Hopefully I'll be down to my ideal weight in a month.
What YOU did for yourself though is something that you should be totally proud of. Not everybody has the internal fortitude to accomplish what you've done. Heartfelt KUDOS to you. :congrats:
-
Damn, looks like two different people.
I didn't catch if you had kids or not, but think about this.
You just added a few more years to your life to be there and enjoy life with them.
You should be very proud!
Hell, I dont even know you and Im proud of ya!
Luckily I have never had a weight problem, but Im still young. So Im going to try and keep it that way.
I just need to stop smoking!:smoke23:

The BBQ fest was a blast this year. We had a great time even though we were working and not there to just enjoy the fest.
Lots of good music, great BBQ (I did eat some, you just can't go down there without having some BBQ) and pretty girls and great sunsets over the Mississippi River. And the weather was beautiful. Thursday and Friday it didn't get higher than about 75 degrees.
About the only thing I could complain about was the fact that it was a bit too windy Thursday night and that made it a bit too cool. But hey, I'll take a little too cool over blazing hot like it was last year.
I would recommend to everyone to come to the Memphis in May BBQ fest next year if you can. It really is a good time. If you like BBQ you will love the festival.

Wow! That's awesome! I'm a fat guy who needs to loose weight, but i couldn't get myself enough motivated yet... No excuse for that, i know...
-
My motivation came in the form of being diagnosed with diabetes and being told all the ways it could kill me young.
That whole fear of death thing will motivate your butt into action real quick.
-
Great job, Mike! You inspire me. Be careful, though. The authorities are going to want to know what you did with that other guy . . .
-
You DO look like two totally different people. (and I still think you look better without the weird mustache )
Let's see if I can compete...

Dang... no change! I loose!
Great job! You're an inspiration and proof that it can be done without surgery and all sorts of weird stuff. Good old fashioned work, dieting and exercise!
