    Totally newb question here...

I've been reading a lot of threads on here and I gotta say, I just can't get enough, you guys have posted some really great info and advice. But something has puzzled me. I've read a few posts on numberous threads about going and getting "nachos" after getting a new gun or a ccw permit...whats that all about? What is the joke behind it? Am I the only newbie that has wondered about this?

Most of it makes refrence to your first Walmart visit after getting your CCW (first venture out in public).

It's sorta an old tradition on the board! It started with suggesting WW as a good first trip out carrying - get used to crowds etc without fidgeting with gun.

The Nachos were then added - maybe as a celebratory finale to that visit. if no Natchos then a brief Micky D's visit will do.!

If you went to Blockbuster instead of WalMart, then you need to send to Bumper for the 'substitution visit' paperwork...I'm sure you'll be granted the 'pass' on your first visit.

Here is your map. You must cover all the indicated checkpoints and bring them back to be approved by Bumper. If Bumper is not available, Chris will stamp but only by bribing him with 500 cases of .45 brass.

And in case you get lost in Wally World:

Still felt a bit nervous knowing that I was armed and it did not help me that my wife was whispering to me the whole time “I can so see your gun.” Knowing that the only reason she could see it was because she was looking for it.

We made a complete lap around the store, Picked out my daughters first bicycle off the top rack with confidence that no one could see my weapon, and finished out my trip with new cover polo. Sorry guys, No nachos or Mc D’s for us, we were heading home for a BBQ.

All in all a good trip made it back to the car with success and felt more confident.

I want to thank everyone involved with the site. As a beginner it helped me be a better concealed weapon carrier.

Go get the Nachos but, just pretend to eat them.
    They are not very good.
Luckily for me I have been carrying a firearm since before Nachos were invented and (in fact) since before WalMart even existed so...I am off the hook concerning ever having to eat them.

    I pre-date the WalMart excursion.

My WW has a McDonalds inside, so for me it was double cheeseburgers and fries.

I made it to Wally World

Ok boys and girls...as some of you know, I am up here in North Dakota for the next 4wks. Well, not wanting to eat out for every meal...I tracked down the local Wally world and made my rounds....I got a few neccesities...water, milk, dry goods, tuna, can opener, cups, etc.....I did look for a nacho counter...this one is set up just a lil different, no McD's, but a lil cafe. All the while, I had my J frame in a pocket holster in my right cargo pocket of my shorts. I'm I official now?

That would mean...no more Wally World for me...I'd find another place to shop.
