Minor celebrity pictured open carrying in CA.

From the text that accompanies this photo it would appear that the guy was not making a movie or TV show but actually camping near Malibu.
He is carrying a gun, so far so good, but he is pictured with what appears to be a open bottle of alcohol. He is also open carrying. Something seems odd about that, is open carry ok in CA parks?

I am aware who he is, he's Bruce Willis' kid's new daddy.

I've never...NEVER seen anyone carry OWB at that position...unless it was cross draw. He needs to do a action movie...perhaps he could pickup some pointers.
Wonder what he does when he sits down...other than scream and wince in pain.

Ashton Kutcher? (That 70s Show and a couple of movies I have never seen)

I don't know his thinking, but he may be one of those folks who believe that "laws are for other people?"

I'm guessing this was possibly on private property - his or someone else's.

    Sure looks very odd position!

It looks to me like an XD with the XD gear holster, that would explain why it is hanging like that, plus he probably has a totally unsuitable belt.

Isn't Bruce involved with the NRA? Did I just make that up?

actually, if he was in a National Forest in Cali, then he is doing right by open carrying. Even with a CCW, you can only open carry in the National Forests. In National Parks, carrying is illegal period.

If I was ever thinking of getting an XD, this pic would change my mind right quick!

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

    Dude, where's my gun?

I just can't imagine him having a clue as to how to safely operate a handgun.

That is the sloppiest carry method I have ever seen. The thing looks like it's about to flip over on his belt. I guess you can't have a tight belt and let you pants hang low at the same time. I guess since we don't know the circumstances, we shouldn't judge. Maybe he just threw it on and made a tree run or something.

Somebody get him a decent belt and holster rig.

Wonder if he has to have the 10 round mags in it like everyone else in Cali? Or if he thinks he is better than that.
