Speaking other day with an old buddy in UK - he reported that shootings and stabbings were doing well - figures well up!! Gangs, drugs etc .... all the usual stuff. Meantime Joe Public remains unarmed and helpless.

    From the article...

"To own a gun, people have to go through rigorous checks and it takes a long time," he said. "People who argue that these guns are falling into the wrong hands obviously don't understand the real statistics."

Wouldn't it be refreshing to hear a lot of this type of talk from some of our politicians?

IIRC right now - in fact it is not as bad as some folks think (relatively) ...... biggest nono is of course handguns. Rifles of various descriptions are OK but only single shot ....... so, hunting rifles, plinking 22's I think may be still OK semi - not sure. The guys at my old club resorted to Win 94's - so they could still shoot pistol ammo and still have some semblance of compo's.

Black Powder also is possible and of course shotties still allowed (legal ones) ..... but all the time hoops and hurdles for the Firarm Certificate - probably still needing ''good reason'' declared for each and every gun - oh and proof of security - ya know, something similar to Fort Knox!.

Then too still I imagine - limitations on how many rounds of ammo can be held - how many purchased at one time . and, each purchase is recorded

    (I used to reload - a lot! )
