If an impotent, bloated bureaucracy can't solve it, then it's best left festering.
You can't spell "UNethical" without the UN.

We should have dropped out of the UN the day after we knew for sure that they stabbed the United States the back.
They would have already crawled back to us begging & pleading by now.
That is the one thing I don't like about G. W. Bush.
He always tries to do the Christian thing & turn the other cheek & sometimes he really needs to slap some cheeks really hard.
We sure don't need to be kissing back up to Germany, Canada, & France right now. But, what do I know???

At least if Bush could ever get John Bolton confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations we might get some satisfaction. But after today it doesn't seem like that will happen for awhile, if at all according to this:
We were stabbed in the back today, folks. Republican Senator George Voinovich - who became a darling of the news media for opposing
President Bush's tax cuts - today single-handedly blocked the
confirmation of John Bolton to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the United
It was a stunning day in the John Bolton confirmation fight.
According to CNN, Democrats began the day by trying to delay the vote
on Bolton. Senator Barbara Boxer even tried to hold up all the
business of the Senate to block Bolton.
Boxer's efforts failed, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
finally met. At the start of the committee hearings, the Democrats
launched a coordinated assault on Bolton, claiming to have unearthing
new allegations of bad behavior.
It was a typical smear campaign, with Democrats calling Bolton names,
waving their arms, yelling and shouting. You would have been confused
about WHO exactly it was that had the anger management problem if you
watched the hearings.
When the Republican Chairman, Senator Dick Lugar, tried to move the
process forward to an up or down vote on Bolton, the Democrats shouted
over him. They called him names, ranted and screamed.
And then the unthinkable happened.
Republican Senator Voinovich announced that maybe the Democrats had a
point and maybe John Bolton was too strong of a personality to send
to the United Nations.
The committee members fell into shock - Senator Lugar was stuttering.
And then gleeful Democrats - backed by Republicans Lincoln Chafee and
Chuck Hagel - announced that they were going to now conduct 2 to 3
MORE WEEKS of investigations into Bolton. There will be no vote for
Bolton, at least for now. Maybe not ever.
And all because of turncoat Senator George Voinovich.
