    Ah Technology

So this is good. I'm on vacation in NC (oak island) and I'm still able to get my daily combatcarry err uh defensive carry dose. The house here has cable but no internet...not to worry...blackberry to the rescue. I'm using my blackberry as a modem for my laptop...sure enough it's better than dialup.

Pony Express is faster than dial up.

    Gotta love technology.

That's good stuff. I occasionally miss several days in a row and really feel it when I do. It's like a drug.

I've actually driven to other hotels parking lots to "pirate" wireless while on the road.

Holliday Inn and Days Inn don't use encryprion but the Hampton Inn does...

it's actually not too bad. I'm getting 128k on average from my blackberry data connection.

+1, sort of. Sitting in the ambulance all day I learned the spots where I could connect from the truck. Panera bread ended up being my favorite. How on earth does borders or mcdonalds expect that people are going to pay by the hour for connection. Sure, some will, but I think Most will learn where it's free. I did try to support panera by buying bagels and pop there.

Thats right, I forgot. It's been a long time since I've been out of MI. Allow me to translate for the rest of the country:
    -Western US: pop=Soda
-Much of the south: pop= soda pop
-I think it was Tenesee or OK where: pop=coke (Whenever I asked for a "coke" they'd ask me "what kind"...For a coke I had to ask for a coca-cola)
-never been to the East, and somewhere they called it "cola" but I can't remember where.

Oh, and JD, I'm guessin it's the "mild winters" you miss, huh?

It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

I'm from the northeast, and it's a soda to me. A Coke is a Coke, Pepsi is disgusting, and cola is generic supermarket brand swill.
