This woman plowed into a crowd injuring 35 people. She was obviously trying to kill people with her car. Its amazing no one was killed. Is it time to ban cars?

Link doesn't work any more.
People can be bad critters. Sadly, there is no defense against such action, except avoidance of large crowds.

It is a shame guns are singled out as the evil weapon. If this had been someone with a gun, the media would take off on it like the VT shooting.
Thanks for the updated link. From the sounds of it, there has to be drugs involved in this one. One could only hope the driver was not in her right frame of mind to pull that off.

I think cars kill 3-4 times as many people annually in the US as guns do.
And lets not forget the anti mantra 'guns are designed for one pupose'. Well despite that, they are STILL 75 percent 'safer' than cars.
So, maybe we should outlaw cars and only use government approved public transport.
Now, what about cheeseburgers, cigarettes, etc?
I've been wondering the same thing all weekend.
Commonly anti's say that guns are the easiest of means to hurt & kill people singularly or enmasse, which of course is completely false because it's with an automobile that _anyone_ can do as much with much more accuracy & ease.
Here is an example where as of todays reports 40 people were directly injured by this single person via her car and yet it's just a side bar item amongst the news and I'd bet it's not American water cooler talk today either...while the VT shooting is acid etched into folks minds as being another gun related crime.
Had Tonya Bell walked through that same crowd of folks in DC with a firearm and shot 40 people it would be a national tragedy and folks would be up in arms to eliminate all guns from everyones possesion.
This makes no sense what so ever.

She had to use the car, this happened in DC and if she'd used a gun she'd have been breaking the law!
On the serious side, I understand she lives in Maryland, and was (according to at least one news report), high on drugs when she went for her "drive".
