We have gotten so soft and whiny as a nation, if you ask me.

... Well, I just can't believe this, a rubber band gun? Are you kidding me?

We've got paroles getting out and killing people, and they're going to press charges on an 11year old kid with a rubber band gun?

I guess that when my grandtwins get old enough to run around and play, they can't do cowboys and indians any more. Maybe I should get a couple sets of needlepoint for them. No, by then, some hammerhead will outlaw those tools for anyone under 50. I can't believe some of the junk I read these days.

This is just a bit TOO MUCH. An 11 yr old with a stick rubber band gun. Hope he didn't stick his tongue out too, this woman might have had a stroke then. These cops need to go back to the academy. Hope the judge tosses this before it goes any further.

I'll just let Chris' words speak for me since I agree with him and I have no idea what to say about this....and I can't scream and yell because my son is asleep.

    Too many sticks around

I think it is too easy to get hold of a stick. And rubber bands.

Apparently, there are no restrictions on the sale or distribution of sticks. Some sticks are even very pointy. And rubber bands can be pinged in a painful manner. After all, aren't robberies often referred to as 'stick-ups'?

I personally think that this whole issue about the wide scale availability of sticks (and rubber bands) needs to be at the forefront of the next presidential elections and look forward to seeing where the various candidates stand on this.

And maybe we should be looking at what kind of people our taxes pay for at the local level. I'm sure a REAL victim would be happy to have police diverted to harrasing an 11 year old boy.

I can understand them having a word with him, but to pursue it all the way to a judge? Thats not the kind of judgement we need to see from those that decide which cases to pursue.

Don't forget that they were incendiary with teargas and O.C. Oh, and beanbag-filled, as well (they pack it into the hollow point of the steel-cored armor-piercing wadcutter... um, behind the incendiary and the gas capsules).

The gun itself only fires rubber bands and was checked into evidence. Police didn't comment on the weapon's color or release any images. Still, the victims said they were frightened and, police said, toy or no toy, the charges are justified.

Wouldn't you think that a reasonable person, when she found out that it was a rubber band gun, would actually feel that the charges should be dropped?

Does this cowardly pansy sheeple moron actually feel that it's serving some social good, to press FELONY charges against an 11 YEAR OLD kid?!

Forgive me, but I find myself wishing that tomorrow, some gangbanger points a REAL gun at this loser, so she can learn the difference between justified fear and unjustified fear.
