Talking JDLV4_0 Minus the LV4_0 Equals....

    Me!

Sorry to mess up everyones mojo, but I decided a change was needed.
(No Glock 'em down, it's not because you misspelled it.)

Any way, I'm finally back home from CT. Changed out some parts on the Springer and the XSE, I got some Wilson factory plus plugs and spring guides for each, what's better is that I picked them up in CT. and had to pay no shipping. I also added a slightly extended mag catch on the Colt, my CDP spoiled me in that aspect I guess.

Lima is working at the shop today, and I'm going to get the front sight on my Sig changed out to the XS Big Dot, and so see the missus at work and probably do a little shooting.

Any way, if you see JD, it's me and not some bum stealing my avatar and signature.

All most forgot to add, during my stint up to the Ct. I managed to snag a FREE used Milt Sparks VMII for a 5" 1911!

Darn! I thought maybe I had influenced your name change! Hey...I got a ??? for ya...in Lima's "photo album" I saw a pic of you at the stove wearing a shoulder rig. Was it a Galco Jackass rig with a Miami Classic harness? The holster itself looked like the Jackass holster, but the harness looked more liked the one used on the Miami Classic rig - more tan than the suede one that Galco uses with the Jackass rig. And if it wasn't, you might consider getting a Miami Classic harness - let me tell you why. I had a Jackass rig and I found that when you prespire, that suede harness soaks up the sweat like a sponge, thereby making the harness more like carbboard when it dries out - not a good thing! The Miami Classic harness is a full grain harness that prevents this.

    Anyway...just my observation...YMMV.

I was showing someone at work pictures of my Sig and he saw the one of my VMII and told me he had one for a 1911, apparently he bought it a while ago when the model first started and there was a back log, by the time he got the holster he was no longer carrying his Colt. Next time I saw him he had the VMII and gave it to me.

It's actually John Dean, and no I'm not named after Col. Cooper, although that would've been kind of cool.

At least it's not the John Dean of Watergate fame (or infamy)!

    (Probably before your time, buddy)!

Well...is the harness smooth on the outside? Or is it a kinda suede leather on both sides?

    Smooth on the outside.

I've been meaning to replace the harness anyway with the newer harness with the thicker straps over the shoulders, it's for winter carry, as soon as I stop wearing a heavy coat, the shoulder holster goes away.

I thought so! That harness is better than the one that comes with the Jackass rig. Like I said - sweat destroys the suede harness shipped with the Jackass rig and literally turns it into cardboard!

Actually, now that I think about it, that harness came with a Miami classic shoulder holster for the Beretta I had, I bought the 1911 holster and mag pouch seperately and just used them with the MC harness.
