A man was shot early Sunday when he refused to give an attacker his 12-pack of beer.
Phoenix police reported the man suffered four gunshot wounds to the stomach, leg and groin. His injuries were described as serious but non-life-threatening.
The victim was returning home from purchasing the beer about 5 a.m. near 7th Street and Broadway Road when an unidentified man approached him and demanded the alcohol, police said.
When the victim refused, the shooter opened fire with a .45 caliber handgun, police said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. He is expected to recover, police said.

A .45, you would think he could afford his own beer. 4 shots from a .45 and he is still alive kind of proves the one shot stop is a myth also. Man, it is a brutal world out there. Is it getting to the point that if someone accosts you on the street you have to shoot first just to stay unharmed?

Agreed HGJ
Four .45 at close if not contact range with two to the belly (OUCH!) and a one to the groin (femoral artery) and he survived that with expectation to recover (?).
Amazing, even as likely he was hit with ball/FMJ ammo.
This story reminds me of the beginning scenes of Robocop where they show criminals running rampant and citizens more so reacting with force or being over run.

Dude, he couldn't hit the guy square in the upper torso? Couldn't have been too far away and wasn't shooting back.
Anyway, what an idiot.

Four .45's for a 40. That's not a good deal!

Wow. The price of beer has gone up. I've had some good beers, but none were worth getting shot 4 times. Unreal. Anytime, anywhere, and never for a good reason...
