People need to learn to remember. And respect.
When I was 12 years old I stood in complete solemn silence as I watched the guard changed at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
I then had placed in my hands a fairly heavy responsibility in the form of a piece of charcoal and a piece of paper. It was my duty to go to the wall, find a name, and make a rubbing of it for a historical society back in Texas who was collecting rubbings of various names.
I believe the name was Paul Harold Abraham but I might be mistaken.
Then I saw Arlington Cemetary.
I learned some respect.
