Dirty Harry oddity right at the very end
I just watched Dirty Harry (the original, with the ransom killer guy).
At the end, when he rides the bus to the quarry and shoots the guy and the guy falls into the water, I noticed something strange.
Although Harry shoots right-handed, when he takes his "star" (that funny looking cardboard-like badge in his wallet) and throws it out into the water, he whips it out there using his LEFT hand!
What do you make of that? Does Clint Eastwood normally throw lefty? Which way does he box in those "Any Which Way" movies?

Don't know for sure, but it doesn't mean he's a righty or a southpaw.
For the longest time I shot with my weak arm and I still shoot pool with my weak hand, even though I write with my strong arm.
If I were chucking a badge in the water, especially if I had a .44 in my strong arm I probably would just chuck it with my weak arm.
Then there is the chance that the negative was reversed, much like the Billy the Kid tin type was.
"[T]he people are not to be disarmed of their weapons.
They are left in full possession of them."
Zacharia Johnson (speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention,25 June 1778)"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."

I hadn't noticed that before.

I believe Clint's naturally a lefty - noticed it in several movies - but, like most lefties, he's been forced to live in a right-handed world and even may have been 'cured' as a youngster. That was much more common for his generation than for today's.
Law without force is impotent.

No, he is just Dirty Harry, properly schooled and trained in the art of gun fighting. He knows that one should never have anything in his shootin hand except his pistol.

Sixto beat me to it.
You "show" your badge with your left hand while pointing your gun at whoever with your right. Clint did it right.
It wouldnt make sense to have your badge in a spot where you had to engage your gun hand with it.
I want to have a job where the is no accountability,a job where I can do as I dang well please and make my own laws and act like a KING. I want to be on the Supreme Court.

I myself do just about everything "righty": shoot, fight, snowboard, kick a ball, use a hockey stick, etc. But I write with my left hand, and always have. I shoot pool lefty, but I can make shots righty if necessary.

In most movies he seems to always punch with his left hand and shoot with his right.

Hey, it's the movies...he could probably throw it with his foot...
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous though...
