This is a discussion on Gunman bursts into party, gets hugs, then leaves. within the Off Topic & Humor Discussion forums, part of the The Back Porch category; http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19740787/?GT1=10150 Badguys need love too....
the story is disturbing, from both sides. glad they got lucky and none of their family was harmed.
War is not the ugliest of things. Worse is the decayed state of moral feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which he cares for more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free. -J.S. Mill
Well, I know I still haven't seen everything, but this story brought me closer to it....
This has to be a made up story. Who in their right mind would do this? This sounds like a argument starter/backer supporting the fact that you don't need guns to protect yourself and family, just some cheese, wine and a good hug.
Why can't we all just be friends? Give me some love. Love solves all problems.
Things happen, but the only thing that matters at the end of the day is what you do during and after in order to survive.
guess this gives the anti's another reason that we don't need our guns.
Something doesn't 'feel' right about that story... almost like it was arranged..
Put a gun to the head of a 14 yr old and walk away! Yeh Right!!
Here have a glass of wine and a 230 gr TAP chaser.
"First rule of a gun fight is to have a gun"
we had a thread like this on a local crry board where people made their deily events into sensational headlines.
"Well Armed Gunman Cut Off in Traffic: No shots fired"

The homeowner just happened to be out walking the dog while this party was going on? Strange time for a walk, considering how great the wine and cheese were... why would he want to miss out on all that?
Unless he hired a thug to scare away unwanted guests over-staying their welcome.
I don't get along with the wine and cheese people either...
Dadgum, that must be some fine wine! Need to get me some in case I can't carry.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
Instead of carrying an extra mag I should get cheese........or put a flask of wine in my holster instead of a Colt

Twas an odd story at that. Odd that the owner was out walking the dog at the time, odd that the gunman would even know what good wine is (sure as shootin' I wouldn't know), odd that he asked for hugs, odd that he left, odd, odd, odd.
But then again, I believe it was Mark Twain that said, "the difference between fact and fiction is that fiction has to be believable." Did I get that one right?
The only thing that stops bad guys with guns is good guys with guns. SgtD
Of course, things may have turned out differently in the Wild West. I think these photos tell it all:
1. The victim, an Air Guard patriot
2. The first responder, a civilian tourist
3. The [dis-]armed robber, who looks like he really needs a hug

It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.
