Driver Calls 911: Woman Bound, Gagged In SUV
    Tampa Man Held Without Bail

    POSTED: 11:27 am PDT July 13, 2007

TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa man is being held without bail after another driver spotted a woman bound and gagged in the back of his sport utility vehicle.

The driver said he saw the woman press her face against the window Thursday. He called 911 and tried to chase the SUV through traffic.

State troopers eventually caught up with the SUV and arrested Marcus Young. A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said troopers don't know where Young was heading with the 35-year-old Panama City woman. No details about her condition this morning are available.

FHP said Young faces kidnapping, battery and aggravated battery charges

What a frightening scenario. Good thing for cell phones

Wow... I gotta say, cell phones can literally be a Lifesaver!

    Thank goodness for alert drivers!

God only knows what was in store for that woman at this point.

That is something that gives one pause!

Radar is a good thing. Without it, situational awareness is only a pipe dream. I wonder how she was abducted, under what conditions, from where? I wonder if she was paying attention, or got clopped upside the head while unawares? This sort of thing could be said about many (most?) of the attacks that occur. Yellow --> Orange --> Red.

Cell phones can indeed save lives. Even though they can be a royal pain sometimes, we all need to carry one.

Kudos to an alert driver...I'm sure he saved that woman's life. Hope the dirtbag goes away for a looooooong time.

I agree about the positive influence of cell phones. I recently upgraded the phones my wife and I use...

Gotta be careful, because there literally are people who get off on role-playing like that and it could have been a couple "scening"!

Of course, they open themselves up to having it misinterpreted, and there could even end up being tragic results, even if that was a consentual "game" going on. Best to keep it in the home if that's what you're up to.

Some may think that's farfetched, and in this case since they booked the guy it probably isn't what was going on, but I've seen some strange ones.

In my last year at Ft Carson we had a Soldier who was stabbed in the abdomen by his wife. Well, it turns out they were "playing", with him strapped to the bed, and she slipped. While the MPs did their investigation he had to move into the barracks and their visits had to be chaperoned by an NCO. Part of the investigation, the only way to prove that such behavior was "normal" for them, was for the MPs to interview other couples that they sometimes played with. Talk about embarrassing...
