Chris in the hayday of Saturday Night Live you were still a " Subject " of the queen . The skits presented are " over the top " in a sense , but also nostalgic to us 30 thro 50 somethings here in the usa , they were /are as cultistic as " Faulty Towers " across the pond as i understand it . Jane Pauly and Dan Acroid just couldn't be beat for presentation of timely "news" in the latter 70s and early 80s lol . The half hour news hour is just that , a half hour of what back then was a 3 minute or so segment of SNL.
