I was doing some work at the state mental hospital today. And my local contact was joking with one of the PD guys assigned to the hospital about his pink gun. The officer came over to me, and showed me his knife with the a rainbow color finish on it. Then he turned unsnapped the thumb break, and reviled the same finish on his Sig slide.
It probably looks nice in the sunshine at the range.

I don't know if this is true or not but I heard some years ago that these ultrasonic gun cleaners occasionally have this effect with certain guns. Apparently there is a difference in the steel that reacts to the cleaning solution or ultrasonic vibrations in an unusual fashion.
Black or stainless for me thanks.
