Since it isn't a concealed carry issue I moved it to Off Topic.

I would suggest that you visit the Open Carry forum where they specialize in open carry discussions. I'm sure you will get a lot of response to your open carry questions there.

I am originally from Indiana. Born and raised in a small town named Cloverdale in Putnam County, about 50 miles from Indianapolis. My parents and a good number of other family members still live there.

I open carry there every time we go for a visit. never had a problem with LEO or anyone else. But, that is just in my small home town. I do not know how well received it might be in other parts of the state.

If it is legal, I don't see why it would be a problem though. Just print out a copy of the laws and carry them with you.

Im not trying to make waves or anything.....

But since this forum was changed to "Defensive Carry.com" from Concealed Carry.com, wouldn't the discussion of Open carry for self defense have more merit?

    Just wondering.

Nonsnob - I have to admit that this is purely hearsay but several Indiana people have indicated to me that while it is legal to open carry there, it is not the norm. You may get some hassles for doing it.

When I visit my daughter in Bloomington, I always carry concealed. I don't have a problem with open carry but I don't really want to be a test case.

This has been covered in depth.

I suggest that you review this thread, which is posted in the white "Announcement" bar at the top of every sub-forum.

We changed from CombatCarry.com to DefensiveCarry.com, not ConcealedCarry.com which is owned by a clothing company. Open carry, as Scott said is best posted on a forum focused on open carry. Regardless of our name, we are focused on concealed carry....
