MIAMI, Fla. (AP) -- A man accidentally shot his accomplice in the eye during a botched robbery attempt.

The two suspects, who were not identified, attempted to rob a security guard at a BrandsMart USA parking lot yesterday morning.

One of the would-be-robbers waved a gun and directed the guard to the ground. He refused and a struggled ensued. The gun went off, hitting the second suspect in the eye.

That man was listed in critical condition.

Three others were arrested in the attempted robbery.

Guess he should have listened to Santa's advice: "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"

I don't know if my heart has cockles or not but....I'd feel better if the bad guys would have been put down for good.

The eye part is funny, but the fact that they were trying to rob a SECURITY GUARD is even better!

What were they expecting to get of value from the damn security guard??? His key ring and the deadly flashlight!?!

EYE take issue with the remark about the SECURITY GUARD. My flashlight cost me a good hundred bucks! However, all my credit cards are maxed out so they couldn't use them for much. Although I guess they could take my keys and use my truck to carry out another crime spree! Unless I could get the drop on them first...
