Anim GIF gunfight!
Very small physical size but a tad big as a file. Hope OK. Save it once it's up perhaps.
Thought rather neat tho - Tom Cruise in Colateral I am told - for which he apparently undertook quite a bit of training.
His body movement to left on draw looks good as does his gun aquisition from under jacket. BG on left gets two from retention and then BG on right gets three from a fully extended two hand hold. All looks satisfyingly decisive!
Hmmm - won't show for me as self size - it's still small - but, have to click on thumbnail I think to display.
That is a good movie and a excellent part in the movie
I too thought it was a good movie and Tom's shooting was great. On the DVD I seen his practice scenes, he works very hard to perfect them. I have much respect for his acting ability.
It is the first time that I have ever seen the Mozambique used in a movie. And while I adhere to the effectiveness of that move, I was actually surprised. It looked devastating.
I was reading the August Combat Handguns (at least I believe it was that rag. I had five mags on my table at Borders, and the latte's were flowing freely) where they discussed the ideal to keep fighting.
The belief has long been that if two to the chest didn't work the first time, then two more in that same area won't matter. I've believed that for decades.
I had never seen the term "cranio-ocular" before in regards to situational awareness, target acquisition and bullet placement. I have heard the misnomer of "right between the eyes." I was taught either aim for the nose or the space between the upper lip and the nose.
"Dear, do we have a fly-swatter? Some horsefly seems to buzzing around my cranio-ocular area."
I thought that Cruise did a good job in the movie. If only he had worn a suit that fit correctly.
One thing that the movie got wrong was that it made a big deal of the shot placement being so close together on the front end of the failure drill. They should really be spread apart so as to have a better chance of damaging more organs.
Prospector, who's here for a visit, and I just watched that last night. I love that scene....
