ROAD TRIP! Need help with itinerary.

I have a buddy in Fort Worth, TX that is a having a birthday. I am in the process of planning a roadtrip from my home here in Louisville KY.

I will be traveling by myself and would like to take some extra time (maybe a few days) on the way there or on the way home to see the sights. The problem is I don't know where the sights are.

I'm looking for suggestions like regular tourist sites as well as can't miss gun shops, mammothly huge wilderness stores or anything else that would be interesting to see or visit. Maybe there is the worlds biggest skillet or rubber band ball between here and there.

Here is the route I have planned, but it could be altered to visit a really good destination. As you can see the route takes me through Nashville, Memphis and Little Rock as well as various other towns.

Any members in these areas? Suggestions?

In Memphis, there is lot's of great bbq, one particular restaurant is downtown, I can't think of the name right now but they are noted for their pork ribs. I've had them and they were the best I've ever had. It might be named "Rendezvous"? Also the B-17 Memphis Belle was static by the Miss R., but I think it's being re-built elsewhere, or maybe it's finished now.
Near Shreveport LA, in Bossier City (off your route) is a Bass Pro Shop with all sorts of outdoor stuff, though you may already be familiar with them. Also, casino's next door that'll be happy to take your money too.
In Dallas, of course is the Texas School Book Depository building, where a JFK museum is now. Fort Worth has the Stockyard area. That's all I can think of, I'm sure others who live near your route can help better.
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

    Hey Thanks for the ideas.

I didn't even think of food. I can't imagine why. That is usually the first think on my list. I love good BBQ!

Ok let's expand this to eateries too. Where can I find some good food (BBQ)?

We have a BP here. Very cool place. Worth a drive.
