Thumbs up Ammo Person Of The Week!

And I'll Bet You Folks Thought I Forgot.
Well, I did! Anyway......Something A Little Different For Your Viewing Pleasure This Week.
    AMMO! We all love ammo!
SERIOUSLY, I was wondering what caliber of bullets these are showing in this photograph?
Or...should I rather more correctly call them cartridges?
I have absolutely no idea!!! ~ At first I thought they were 9 mm but, now I'm not sure. I Really need to know.
And...are they Winchester Western or maybe....CCI Speer?
I'm just not certain at all.
Maybe some helpful forum member can answer my questions.

From my perspective, the rim is a touch wider than the case. The only straight wall pistol case I know that has that feature is a .38 Super.

With that type of nose, I first thought it was a 9x23. Heck, many people consider those two the same cartridge, anyway.

edit: No, no, no, the case is brass! It's a .38 Auto. If it was a Super, the case would be nickel.

edit/edit. The girl, however, is a 23 year old co-ed in a liberal arts college, quite possibly from the north-east. She's out-doorsy, but no tan, so I would say her daddy supports her equestrian habit. She likes blues, but secretly listens to metal and she claims this is her first motorcycle ride. She has one T-top from the Gap.

Sorry my guess on her is so sketchy, I just saw her from the back. Usually I'm more certain upon meeting women.

Yep - 38 super was my first take but then yep - not nickel! So I'll also go with 38 auto too.

Could be Tourist and I will once again be in agreement! We done good yesterday!

As an ex osteopath I think just perhaps - she has a loss of flexion curve around T7-9 and so may have need for some treatment to ease that area.

What we can't tell tho - is - does the ammo continue down - much further?? Hmmm.

    P95Carry,

    Yep, it's getting spooky.

It's probably one of those 'separated at birth' stories in the tabloids.

Do you like dangerous engines, even more dangerous women, garlic, and gallows humor?

If the above answer is 'yes,' perchance do you have the faint birthmark outline of a raven's wing across your left shoulder blade and do you get an acrid bile taste when angry?

I'm not sure I want to know the answer. Which brings me to my next point about the girl above.

You thought she had hazel eyes--at first--didn't you?

There goes the theory up in flames - no faint raven's wing - might just be a sparrows foot! And bile taste - nah, when angry I spit genuine rattler venom Oh and dangerous engines? Yes there but dangerous women? Finished with them long ways back!!

When the .38 Super first came out, there was a fear that the Supers would get fired in a less powerful firearm since their dimensions are the same.

To avoid this, all .38 Supers were loaded in nickel cases; .38 Autos were loaded in brass colored cases.

They must now figure that after +/-70 years, that worry is not a big concern.

Finished with them long ways back!!
