I present it for no more reason than to make sure all folks think hard before driving whilst intoxicated. I am not in any way suggesting we do that here - I think as carry people our responsibility quotient is above it.
However - take a copy of this and spread it around, even if you have seen it before. It makes a very painful point IMO.... and that there is someone's precious daughter. Could be one of our kids so very easily.
One of my dad's former employee's came in to work intoxicated. He stumbled about until he hit a display and fell over. Dad fired him. (He got Unemployment straight from dad after that.) He ended up getting into an auto accident where he drove off the road in his pickup with a bunch of teenagers in the bed. The accident left one of the girls paralyzed from the waist down.
I know of another man who has prosthetic legs, and how he got them. He had his brother as a passenger while he was driving drunk. His brother died in the accident and he had severed legs.
When I was in early grade school, our school bus fell dead silent as we passed by a car imbedded in a tree. There was a huge, gaping hole in the windshield on the driver's side. Somebody was zipped up in a bodybag and being wheeled into the ambulance. I found out later that it was my neighbor, who was driving drunk.
That just gave me the chills.
Don't Drink & Drive Folks. How would you like to live having done that to another Human Being...hanging over your head for the rest of your days?
I don't know about you people but, I could not live with myself if I did that to an innocent person.
Yeah, another sad statistic is that the bozo that is DUI seldom gets killed in the "wreck" ( I dispise the term "accident" an accident is a bridge falling on your car). They are so limber, that they seem to always survive....too bad, in my humble opinion!
Wow. The main reason that I got into police work was to make DUI arrests. I've since moved on to other aspects of the job, but stuff like that is a reminder of what's important.

Well, be careful out there. We have a local Phoenix officer that looks just like her. His patrol car was rear ended by a drunk while he was working an accident. Crown Victoria fuel tank exploded and burned him up very similar to this woman. He was in the hospital and physical therapy for a year....
