Bill Mauldin
Mods, I could not find the Mauldin thread we had a while back so please feel free to move this post if you do.
I knew I had this saved somewhere and I finally found it. According to what I was told, DeGaulle was being his usual anti-american and complaining about US Troops in Europ nato and the usual BS. Mauldin's cartoon was a fantastic slap in the face IMHO

I am not sure, but being DeGaulle, the cartoon represents the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial were WWII Servicemen are buried.

DeGualle was full of more than just himself

That man was just sad. It infuriates me to read of his antics during the liberation of his country, by Allied forces. He was a horses patootie.

Been to Normandy and that cemetery. Very humbling. DeGaulle had gaul.
