Yeah....and with our immigration laws and lack of prosecuting illegal "invaders", they'll need to change that one from Millions to Billions!

There are more baby boomers than any other tax-paying demographic we have at this time.

Most of us will retire, pay no/low taxes as we leave the working world. In fact, we will begin to draw benefits. I'm busy trying to find a way to hide any assets I have now.

Yikes, I'd hate to be a grifter in society 30 years from now. You'll probably get on the waiting list for men/women's shelters and some free cheese.

Well QK - tho I had other things I should have been doing - thought I'd play with a pic from pre 9/11 and make the message a serious one - at least I think it is.

Hehe with all respect Tourist, that's the same reason people my age are going to pay into state mandated retirement systems for the next 40-50 years and then have our benefits taken away. Not blaming The Boomers themselves, but the incompetent, worthless system we have.

I deeply resent that as a 20 something I'm forced to pay into a state mandated retirement system, especially considering they just passed a law where not only do I have to work another 5 years, I'll draw less money than someone who retired a year ago.

I'd very much like to find that state senator and ask him when I'm getting the 5 years of my life back, not to mention compensation for the funds I won't be drawing.

Personally I propose that all state mandated retirement systems should just refund every bit of money I ever put into them and then leave me to my own devices. I'd rather give my retirement fund to an independent broker whose interest is making money with my money, rather than a government whose only interest is to cater to interest groups and distribute it to welfare babies.

And you know what, the dang thing is I actually don't have one single problem with paying other people's pensions, but that's assuming that in 30 years someone would pay my pension. And I severely doubt that's going to happen.

I honestly don't think my generation or the next one will live long enough to retire.
