THE YETI ~ ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN ~ BIG FOOT

You are in the woods with your trusty, ample, "firearm of choice" and...You Spot One. Do YOU shoot it?
Many scientists (Believe~It~Or~Not) WANT one DEAD.
They want a carcass & bones.
In a nutshell their (probably correct) opinion is that they need one dead to prove that they are alive.
Their logical rational is that if killing only one will cause their extinction then their numbers are already so low that they would be doomed as a specie anyway.
    What say you?
Remember that if you KILL one & play your cards right...then you are a Guaranteed Multi~Millionaire!
Me personally...I would not kill one just to kill it.

Gotta agree whole-heartedly. Killing for the sake of killing is bad juju. I don't have one thing against hunting to put food on the table. But dead set against "trophy" shooting and that's what this article is. To me there is just something basically "abnormal" with anyone sticking a darn "head" on the wall....animal or otherwise. Anyone out there gotta taxidermied BG head hanging on your wall?

Yeah, call me a softie. I wouldn't kill one unless in danger, or someone else was in danger.

I agree. In fact, I believe that whatever this is must also be a sentient being.

As such, I feel shooting him would be tantamount to outright murder.

No shoot - at all - unless a threat level so high no other options remained.

Not to worry guys. Bigfoot and Elvis hopped into their UFO and flew to Loch Ness to go monster fishing. My Magic 8 ball told me so.

    Thinking About It Now

I would probably hafta shoot BigFoot in the leg & then have a serious "sit down" with him about going on "World Tour" with me.

I would wave, and watch him pass me by, hopefully. I would keep the Mosin handy, if attcked, as I don't think 9mm is quite enough for Big Foot, but I would prefer never to kill such a creature, if it existed, but to help him continue to thumb his nose at the world in general...

    Not unless attacked!

With my luck I wouldn't have a camera with me either.

I would have simply said, "Hey, aren't you hot in that costume" and let him go on his way....

Read some of the works of Theodore Roosevelt in reference to this critter. I've been studying Sasquatch for most of my life and I know SOLDIERS (Airborne Rangers and Force Recon Marines) who swear to encounters and not all have been warm and fuzzy. Even the Florida Everglades has a version and there is a news story from the 1970's where one alledgedly ripped the head off a steer and collapsed an old shack on some drunk in a small burg on the edge of nowhere. Me? I'd wait to see if he was hostile and pray I had a Ruger ALASKAN in 454 Casull on my hip.

    Thumbs up Good Post ExSoldier

Well, I sure do believe that there are still many things in this world that we don't know much about. I'd be willing to extend that as far as a "possible" Sasquatch. Somebody had better find some concrete evidence soon though.
I find it kinda hard to believe that nobody anywhere has found at least a few bones or skeletal remains from a deceased one yet. Footprints and castings of footprints can be too easily faked. An old Yeti skull popping up would sure convince me.
It will be neat to see what the future holds though.
