What's it take to get "rehabilitated"
Wow...I think maybe it would take electing or appointing a new judge.....
SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after he was convicted of killing a 77-year-old Salem woman in her home last November.
Twenty-four-year-old Darius Pittman pleaded guilty in July to strangling Florence Boatwright during a home invasion the day after Boatwright, and her 87-year-old husband, Joe, had celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Prosecutors said Pittman had broken into the couple's home weeks before the murder during the daytime. A wallet and a few other possessions were stolen, but Pittman left a window unlocked to gain future access.
A judge said Pittman deserved life without parole because his criminal history of ten convictions for drug use, property crimes and burglaries showed he was not rehabilitated.
Does anyone really think that this Individual would ever be "rehabilitated"? To the point of not being a threat to our selves, our family's, our society?

Rehabilitated, in this sense, means to be cleansed of evil. For many criminals, it won't happen via a system of punishments. At least in the U.S., the wonderful Federal And State Penitentiary System Of Advanced Education For The Criminally Minded isn't, of course, attempting to rehabilitate anyone anyway.

Have several friends who are prison counselors and prison shrinks. They tell me that it is impossible to rehab a criminal. The criminal can, however, rehab himself.

There are those who are absolute sociopaths and should never be allowed back into society. They have but one purpose in life, and that is to prey upon the honest people of the world. They will never be "rehabilitated", unless it's at the end of a rope.
I think the Chinese have the best answer. A bullet to the back of the head, followed by immediate life support until all organs have been harvested. That way, the criminal will have helped society as a last act.

15 or 20 years survival alone on a deserted island would be very rehabilitative.
Spending all time to think about where the next meal and potable water will come from with nobody else around to steal it from will straighten a fellow out for sure.

There is no such thing as rehabilation.

rehabilation: The act of being put to death by either electric chair, gunshots, lethal injection, or 100 angry texans.
if by rehabilation that's what you mean then, sure he can, otherwise, NO!
