Hunting in Arkansas
I would like to go moden gun hunting in AR for White Tail Deer, squirel, and maybe coyote this year.
Does anyone know of public access hunting? I know you probably have to get permits for WTD (I missed the boat on this), but if you know of places, do you mind sharing?
WTD is not the only animal that I would like to hunt. As I mentioned squirel and cototye as well.
I live in the Little Rock area. We have land up in the NE corner of AR, but I did not want to drive that far.
Thanks for the look.

Check out the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Web Site. Should have most of the information you are looking for.

I live in the Ozarks so their is an abundance of hunting land here. So much so that I never hunted around LR. I wish I could help.
You could come up to Russlleville and get on Highway 7 North and drive about 15 miles and on both sides of the road its all public. Its rugged turf though, alot of upo and down walking.

Thanks, HotGuns.
I was hoping that you'd have something for me. I am going to call Arkansas Game and Fish Commision to ask them for a map as well.

Go to the US Foresty Service and get some topographical maps. They have the quadrant topos for 2 or 3 dollars apiece. They are well worth it. There are so many bluff and benchs in the mountains that if you dont know where you are going you might have to walk for miles to go up or down due to a bluff. Plus you can see where it is too steep to go without wearing yourself out doing it.
Of course the LR area is pretty flat to compared to here.
