Read the article, and this will make sense.

Tell her if she can solve the problem of preterm births in the USA, she can win a Nobel. Nothing less. A Nobel. Tell her to have at it.

Our doctors are just as good as anywhere else:

There are also compelling arguments that the USA accounts for live births differently than many other nations, that would consider some premature births as stillborn, this skewing the statistics.

    Washington Times

Having said that, I am not a Epidemiologist, but neither is she. She's only a Doctor. Not an Epidemiologist, which is a big damn difference.

You might ask her if she has adjusted her data set for those minor facts.

You could also ask her how the USA Abortion Rate might effect the data. That should get her going.

Hey man - the numbers in those two stories don't jive. Stanford says that even with excluding the 24 week ones, we would still be far behind. Hmmmm. The Times story seems a little more agenda driven. Who to believe, who to believe. Bah - to heck with it - they are both FAKE NEWS! We're #1! LOL...

    Ok bad humor. I know.

I don't. I tell them in no uncertain terms that they're speaking of the woman who has stood beside me through good times and bad for 46 years. I tell them she is the mother of my children, a treasured grandmother and great grandmother, who is cherished by all her children - and by me. She has earned that measure of respect because of a lifetime of dedicating her life to to her family and the community. I have no qualms telling them that they owe her an immediate apology - in person. If they don't comply, they immediately become persona non grata around my home and I will escort them to the door. You'd be surprised how many people you thought were "friends" really are not. My wife is my best friend, always has been, always will be.

Oh...and my wife is always armed, so she doesn't really need me to defend her, but I do it anyway. I owe her far more than that.

Might not work for you, but that policy has worked well for me for nearly a half century.

Sounds to me like its' time for binge gun-cleaning session at the dining room table. All the guns, all laid out on the table, at the same time. With a replay of Trumps inauguration speech going in the background.

All joking aside though, people outside of America can't understand how hard it is to live well for the vast majority in America. They always say, "But this is the richest country in the world." Well... yes, but that 1% thing is real. To ease that stress they were talking about in the article, and put us on equal footing with all the other first world nations, would mean fighting wage disparity and having a single payer system. Dude, just saying that makes you a freaking COMMUNIST in America. That's not our culture. We hate the poor here, and we hate government. There will never be a single payer system in America. Besides, in order to do any of those things, America would have to pay back the money she stole from its citizens via social security, decrease military spending, and stop privatizing jails and the like.

That'll never happen. She'll (my "friend") be right for as long as we are alive, but that doesn't mean she understands that we don't care.
1st bold- most people outside of Americe cant understand how hard it is to live well. Period! Not just to live well in America.

2nd bold- yes, and there is a reason for that. These other countries should take notes.

3rd bold- you can be the poorest country in the world, there is always a top 1%.

4th bold- we(the majority of the country) dont want to be on equal footing with the rest of first world nations. That would be a step back. Our healthcare is expensive, and that is a problem, but redistributing the cost of that healthcare amongst the entire US population is just shifting the bill to another person. Most of the people who want "free" healthcare have never dealt with healthcare, and doing so would probably change their mind.

5th bold- Not everyone hates the poor, in general, I think we hate the lazy people who are a burden to society. THose people are generally poor, but that is not all of the poor. Im not going to go further into my opinion on that because it will get to political, and mods wont like that. lol.

I really want her to read this post and see her head explode at the sheer thought of me saying we shouldnt be like any of these other inferior countries that people think we should be modeled after.

Step back: America was the FIRST country in the WORLD to create and sustain a Middle Class. The First. Ever. No country before America created a middle class. None. Zip. Nada.

    How and why?

A free market economy, an abundance of natural resources and freedom.

Everybody else can go stuff it.

As to Healthcare? They come to the USA when they need it.

Ask me how I really feel about this.

LOL - love it - then there is no need to debate it. But I'm not sure it's true. Here's something that'll kill you - if we got rid of government, we effectively would no longer have a middle class! Doh! The irony lol.

Anyway, I'm going to stop responding before I get in trouble. I feel comforted knowing I'm not being too petty . And that's what I needed to know.
@Rock and Glock - feel free to shut this puppy down, and thanks for those stories. Good to have in the back pocket!

What the heck are you complaining about, then?!? Enjoy the view, and just play circus music in your head when she talks.

Or keep bringing up how much you like koalas, you want to go to New Zealand to see koalas, how many koalas has she seen, etc.
