I grew up during the Grunge era. He was one of my favorites, and had an incredible voice. I haven't listened to his music much lately, but I'm sad to see he's gone. RIP

I watched him on CBS This Morning last month. He was very positive and upbeat during his interview, and performed three songs:

Soundgarden is one of my favorite bands from my college days. Even my 17 year old stepson like them. I also like his work in Audioslave with band members from Rage Against the Machine.

Thanks for posting that. I hadn't seen it before. I still see he had his voice. He was in pretty rare air of people who have had a 4 octave voice.

It's a real shame, he was a great singer and lyricist.

Just like with the 60s, damn near everybody from that era either drugs or suicide gets them.

Lord, all these great and truly talented people are leaving and we get to keep the Taylor Swifts and Justin Beibers of the world.

Chris was spectacular. If you enjoyed his voice, checkout "Songbook" basically a live, acoustic album of hits and covers. It is perhaps the best collection rock vocal performance I've ever heard.

I am never surprised when an entertainer goes down. It's obviously a lifestyle that has some serious downside to it.

Many times I am surprised that they lasted as long as they did.

    RIP Chris Cornell
