It is unconscionable that we even still have a parole system.

I can't count the times that I've read in the news of parolees who have murdered people.

Doesn't a person have to (supposedly) convince a parole board of educated, experienced judges of character that he is a safe bet for being reintroduced to society?

I swear, it really truly does seem that the people in charge are trying to sabotage society, to let the worst offenders remain at large to do their carnage.

Otherwise, how can it turn out that someone is deemed fit for parole, but ends up doing this??

Not a concealed carry issue, so moved to O/T, which is where shooting stories not involving concealed carry are placed.

I also modified the thread title so others can tell where it happened and not post duplicate threads on this shooting.

that sux! scumbags! why must there be people on the loose like this? Isn't life hard enough without having to deal with trying to stay alive and out of the BGs way?

What is this 'time off for good behavior'? What good behavior in prison?

I hope this BG is terminated...quickly! OMO

Damn. I hate this type of thing, a revolving door justice system. Our prisons are over crowded, housing drug offenders, while these thugs go free. Now, I'm politically conservative, and I've not so much as even tried an illegal drug. But I really would like to see drugs legalized. Take the money out of it, and the dealers and gangs lose out. Crime goes down, as junkies no longer have to steal to afford the drugs. The drugs are a consistent strength, so no more overdoses due to getting a stronger stash. And we get to tax them, and use a portion of the money for treatment, and apply the rest to the deficit. And we can keep the killers, rapists, etc in prison where they belong.

could anyone explain to me why the prison chaingangs were done away with? I think criminals should be put to work, literally paying their dues back to society and I think somebody should build our highways, pick our strawberries, put out our forrest fires, clean up trash, clear paths for hiking in forrests, plant new growth trees, sort our garbage for recyclables, build parks for kids, rennovate schools during summer months, paint over graffiti and other tasks like that.

Didn't Buscemi open a place in West Branch?
    Curious...

I always figured non CC and "failure" stories would be best placed in the scenario section.
