Switzerland moving to ban guns - are we next?
Preface: I am including the following two stories about tightening gun control in Europe. The trend is frightening on several levels: Europe is the proverbial canary in the coal mine. I have spent much time in Europe and have lived in both Switzerland and Belgium. Europe is moving towards the “one world, one government” concept. Their churches are empty and have become museumesque curiosities. Multiculturalism and political correctness is quickly moving to delete core values and national identity over vast swaths of the UK and Europe. Folks, this will happen in America if you do not involve yourselves in the American political process. Some interesting facts about the Swiss (from http://www.swissinfo.org/ thanks to a Google Search on Murder in Switzerland):
1: "A study by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), which examined murders ... since 1980... found that family killings account for 58 per cent of all murders – a figure substantially higher than in the Netherlands (29 per cent) and the United States (20 per cent)."
2. "The number of suicides is close to 1,500 a year. Suicide accounts for more deaths than car accidents, drugs and Aids together."
3. "The majority, 60 per cent, of murders outside the home on the other hand involved illegal weapons."
Philip Jaffé, professor of psychology at Geneva University cites social changes, among which is "...more equal rights for women in deciding when to end a relationship or marriage..." The professor also was quoted as saying "Most of these murders are the consequence of fragile men who just lose it in a moment of abandonment and narcissistic breakdown. The anger can be directed towards the wife or the whole family."
The answer to the problems of the Swiss do not lie in gun control, IMO. They are experiencing the unintended consequences of keeping up with the latest trends of the progressive social engineers so rife in that part of the world.
By the way, what's wrong with snails in garlicy, hot butter with crispy ITALIAN bread??????
