    Man twirls gun, shoots himself
    BY STAN FINGER
    The Wichita Eagle

It looks so easy on those old movies and television shows, but an 18-year-old man found out the hard way that twirling a revolver may not be a smart thing to do.

Police said the gun went off as the man was twirling it in his south Wichita apartment early Thursday morning, and the bullet struck him in the leg. He was taken to Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus for treatment, and later transferred to Via Christi's St. Francis campus for surgery.

The incident was reported at 12:40 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 31st Street South.

That's supposed to be a single action revolver...hammer down on an empty chamber. My guess is this guy tried it with a double action...its good for the human race though.

Dummbbb. Guy lucky it didn't take out his right eye.
He probably doesn't know the difference between a single action and a double action.

Police said the gun went off as the man was twirling it ...
Actually, the man fired the gun as he twirled it. The gun didn't "go off." Subtly so, but this newspaper write-up is yet another slanted view of the evilness of guns (however lightly made), instead of being about the stupidity of the handler.

Ah, now it makes perfect sense.
(I guess you'd have to have lived in Wichita to understand that)

Somehow this reminds me of the kid who played Russian Roulette with a semi-auto.
