Talking And They Say There are No Christmas Movies for Guys....

While Lima and I were at target we picked up the first three Lethal Weapon movies on one disc for $15.00, and it hit me that Lethal Weapon is in fact a Christmas movie, there's family meals, Christmas Carols, the whole shebang, you even have "Riggs" playing the part of a total Scrooge character, he's all "Ba humbug" in the beginning, but not at the end....

So I started thinking of other movies that I won't mind watching after I'm forced to watch "It's a Wonderful Life"

Die Hard 1&2 are both Christmas movies.

The Ice Harvest is a Christmas movie....

What other non-stereotypical Christmas movies are there?

Three godfathers with John Wayne: It is a guy & chick movie, from cute baby to bank robbers.

    Ernest saves Christmas (No comments)

    Ghostbusters II

    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

    The Ref

Trading Places John Akroyd & Eddie Murphy? Brilliant!

    Gremlins

Leave it to Miggy to come through...

Gremlins and The Ref I'm cool with, I never cared for Ernest and Ghost Busters II was downright horrible IMHO.

My wife was not a fan of B&W movies and also not a fan of The Duke (I know, sacrilege!) But I got her one day to sit & watch Three Godfathers, Cyrano of Bergerac (the original with Jose Ferrer) plus Arsenic and Old Lace. Now she will sit and truly enjoy those old classics. She did go through a couple of boxes of kleenex with the first two movies though.

I've been trying to think of something, but can only come up with assault on precint 13, which is actually a new years movie, I believe.

Insanity runs in my family... It practically gallops.

I love that movie.... It is played in the wintertime but I am not sure if it was Christmas.

Get the Cyrano of Bergerac for Valentines.... You'll thank me!

Yep, well at least the latest one was New Years.

I don't know about the original.

I just remember another Christmas movie: Reindeer Games.
It was so-so. IMHO what saves the movie is Charlize Theron

Bad Santa. Now, there is an atypical film. It's almost so bad that it's good. A disgruntled Santa-for-hire (Billy Bob Thornton) cases and robs department stores each holiday with his partners in crime, then ultimately finds the spirit of Christmas ... uh, more or less. You want an atypical Christmas film? That'll do it.

I tend to prefer the classics, though.

A Midnight Clear is a good world war two flick that covers Christmas directly.
