He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. - Jim Elliott
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
Those who can, do. Those who can't generally ***** gripe and complain about those who can and I suspect out of petty jealousy. I've seen that cover a huge number of subjects even within the USA!
If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good. ~ Thomas J. Watson, Jr.
In the original post story transcription, they are claiming that the criminal could not be charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm because of the stand-your-ground law. That smacks of utter crap! The laws protect only those who are going about legal behavior.
The liars writing that story want us to believe that pro-gun judges pass lenient sentences for gun crimes even when the gun crimes are committed by felons committing robberies? Suuuure. What pro-gunner do YOU know who isn't keen on making felons do hard time? Pro-gun means you support the GOOD people having guns, not the EVIL people.

There is still a TON of bad weapons handling in movies/TV, but I think it is getting a little better. Not in British movies, of course...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I have several English relatives (cousins mostly about my same age) and friends who are English. Everytime one comes to visit here in the "Colonies", I always offer to bring them to the local range to shoot some of my guns.
So far, my offers have NEVER been turned down.
Every single cousin who I have taken to the range has always had a "bloody good" time...in the British use of the word!
Most find it a very liberating experience. All find it satisfying. I think its why they keep coming back to my place when they visit.
