    Do You Remember These?

Not only do I remember those but I also remember the dimmer switch being on the floorboard and a heater or radio were options. Also all cars came with 54 air-conditioning (50 MPH and 4 windows open).

This brings back some old memories. I remember these signs all along US Route 50.

As for the dimmer switch on the floor. I wish they would bring that back, it was actually an easier maneuver to hit the dimmer than using the stick on the steering column.

At that time, the signs were the only thing on US 50. It's still a strong candidate for the loneliest road around.

As for the high beams on the floorboards, I remember those. Had 'em on an old Oldsmobile, and a ~'62 Nova convertible if I recall.

Route 66 ran a few blocks from my home and it definately was not a lonely road. We had the Burma shave signs also.

I also remember the starter switch on the floor and chokes.

Cool vid, can't say I was ever alive to see anything like that (21 years old.)
