Not only do I remember those but I also remember the dimmer switch being on the floorboard and a heater or radio were options. Also all cars came with 54 air-conditioning (50 MPH and 4 windows open).
This brings back some old memories. I remember these signs all along US Route 50.
As for the dimmer switch on the floor. I wish they would bring that back, it was actually an easier maneuver to hit the dimmer than using the stick on the steering column.

Route 66 ran a few blocks from my home and it definately was not a lonely road. We had the Burma shave signs also.
