Working part time at a gun shop/range myself now for a few months, I have run into my share of these types of people myself. I hate to see them coming, and you can see them coming from a mile away. Even before they open their mouths.
Well written story Lima, as usual. And a delight to read.

Even though I am in the PRM, there are 4 gun shops that I know of off-hand in this area and at 3 of them you will find the clerks armed openly. Don't recall about the 4th one.
BassPro just opened up here and I know some of the gun counter employees. They tell me that they aren't allowed to even carry a knife there (as an employee, company rules).

They'd have one heck of a time employing me. I think today alone I was carrying three knives.

Ya I havent read or seen, but why can you not carry at a gun store. You know every person walking through the door has or wants a pistol or rifle, so why cant you. The gun store I work in, its almost against policy NOT to carry....

You know I bet this guy is telling the story too. I would love to hear HIS version.
I bet in his version Lima is the crazy gun store woman. I bet he can't stand being outclassed and outdone.
Thanks for sharing that.

I can SO relate to this story. I worked in sales at a retail lumber/building materials yard for 21 years. I knew more than any of the guys on our sales staff at any given time. Loved it when Mr. Customer would waltz up to the counter and totally bypass me for one of the guys. He'd start asking guestions about something, and the guys would ask me for the answers. Always great for the ego!
