I like it... a couple of cases I've been involved with have been on that show. They do a pretty good job of showing what its all about within their time allowed for the show. As long as people dont forget that it is a TV show, and a lot of stuff is edited out for a bunch of reasons, it is a great show.

Keep noticing it listed on programing but as yet never taken a peek - seems it may be worth a look.

It amazes me how many bad guys confess without asking for an attorney.

Why? So the attorney can tell them to go ahead and confess?

Sixto, am I crazy but does it seem like some detectives dont like going out to the field, meaning prefer to do the work from behind the computer and sending patrol out to do the work?

Yeah, a lot of them do that. It also depends on how that dept. is structured too. Some prefer to have the detectives stay in the office as much as possible, others like mine want you out of the office and in the trenchs. I prefer to be in the trenchs myself.

You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

This may sound like a silly question. Is homicide the most difficult detective type to make?

No, not really. Its been my experiance that its more about where interests are. I am a vice detective and work mainly narcotics. I hate dead people... so it would be difficult for me to be a homicide detective. Some guys hate working narc and love looking at dead people. A lot of my stuff turns into homicide investigation, and a lot comes from homicide. So, even though I dont like it, I end up doing it some times.
However, a large department that has a large pool to choose from tend to put the more experianced and motivated detectives in homicide, just because of the nature of the beast.

And with that, the bat phone is ringing, and I'm off to begin a new case once again in the middle of the night.

Love the show. Watch it all the time, and have the DVR set up to record it when ever it is on.

I have noticed that quite a few of the cases are in Memphis, right here in Shelby County Tennessee. It's enough to make you proud that you live here......not.

It is a great show though. Met Sgt. Tony Mullens a couple of weeks ago when he was at the station to do an interview. Nice guy.
