men believed to have shot to death two graduate students in an
apartment on the campus of Louisiana State University. It's the
first killing on the Baton Rouge campus since the early 1990s.

Police called the attack a home invasion.

The victims, identified as Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran
Kumar Allam, both doctoral students, were found inside an apartment
at the Edward Gay complex after campus police received a call last
    night seeking medical attention.

Charles Zewe, a spokesman for the LSU System, says both men had
been shot once in the head.

Zewe says Komma was bound with a computer cable and shot. He
says Allam was found near the door.

He says the call to 911 was made by Allam's pregnant wife, who
returned home and found the men dead.

No other incidents were reported and the campus was not locked
    down.

Zewe says the men were from India. Komma was in biochemistry and
Allam was in the chemistry doctoral program.

The shootings happened as final exams were nearing completion on
the 30,000-student campus and classes were not canceled.

The homicides that took place on campus last night provided an
opportunity for the university to test its new emergency
    text-message system.

University officials says not everyone who had registered their
cell phones with the system received a message. The university is
now investigating the problem with clearTXT, which is the
text-message service provider, and is working to fix the problem

Just saw this on the news...
Another crime that could have been prevented with a weapon on the victim, or in the apartment...

A text-message? Well, that makes me feel safe!

    Stay armed...stay safe!
