Hope you are feeling better. (Maybe a SIG would help too!)

Thanks again guys. I'm up and back around now, I thought I would be out for a little longer, but I couldnt stand sitting at home taking phone calls from my partners letting me know about what they were doing.... without me. So, I went back to work for a few days, and now I'm on my regular vacation.

You never did say exactly what happened. Since it was published in the paper...what gives ?

Ahh but the entire story wasnt told...

Here is the cliff's notes version. We were doing some "stuff" at work, and cornered a BG. Both us and the BG's were in vehicles. BG tries to hit me with his car, I get out of the way but am thrown a decent distance from the impact. Thats where I got hurt, but didnt know it at the time- aint adrenalin grand?
Now we have a foot chase. BG gets caught, and puts up a heck of a fist fight in a crowded area. It takes a minute or two for the rest of the team to catch up and get the BG under control.

    It never is.

Glad to hear all is OK. It could have been worse...but you already know that.
That rates an automatic azz whoopin.
I hope that the BG got some serious "road rash" from his "accident" before it was all said and done.

I'd be a liar if I said I wasnt tempted or wanted to give out an old fashioned beat down... but I didnt. He's looking at the rest of his days behind bars.

I didnt even know that I was hurt until somebody told me to go have the medics take a look at me, I guess they noticed all the blood covering my leg.

Nope, no stitches, just a lot of scrapes and bruises. I dont know how OSHA regulates LE... we do a whole lot of things that would just send them off the deep end. If they had their way, I'd out there buying drugs wearing a neon green jump suit, hard hat, safety goggles, gloves and fall protection. If they needed to report it, I'm sure my bosses did.

    Aint that the truth.

I've been told that they recently started keeping stats on LEO's. Any time an officer has to take a trip to the ER that results in a report or medication being used, the shift Supervisor fills out the details to keep and sends out a total for the year at the years end. I'm not sure if is voluntary or mandantory though.

I dunno. Of course we have to do an internal report and one for workers comp etc, but I have no idea if anyone else gets one or not; thats beyond my pay grade.

Someone should've told that guy that red-headed Mexicans are invincible. Glad you've made it back out there. The world is safer.

    Hey, Sixto,

Googled it and couldn't find it. Just might have not recognized it.

    Anyone have a link?

It was on a local news station one time for about a 3 second blurb... I'll see if its on the net somewhere.

Couldnt find it... we didnt give them hardly any info do to the nature so there wouldnt be much of a story to get people excited anyway.
