Someone posted the question just a few days ago inquiring whether they were paranoid because of the way they looked at (for example) a woman walking by talking on a cell phone....
Well, I couldn't remember WHO started the thread or even find the thread.
Anyway, just three days ago in my fair city, a female BG tried to purse snatch in the parking lot of a local retail establishment using the ruse of talking on a cell phone.
The article below comes from the Marion Star...

MARION - This holiday season, leave your handbags at home, ladies.
That's the message the local sheriff wants to get out after two women reported Tuesday that they were approached by a purse-snatcher.
Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey said authorities believe the same suspect was responsible for the two separate incidents that occurred on the county's east side Tuesday evening.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, a woman shopping at the Meijer store, 2153 Marion-Mount Gilead Road, was approached by a young woman who attempted to steal her handbag.
"She walks up to her car at which point this woman walks towards her while talking on a cell phone," Bailey said. "The suspect grabbed her purse and apparently there was a tug of war and the victim wins."
Bailey said the suspect, described as a white female in her 20s with long brown hair, managed to flee the parking lot in a small four door maroon vehicle, possibly a Toyota, driven by a white male. The vehicle reportedly had what appeared to be light-colored body repair substance above the driver's side headlight.
Within the hour, a second incident occurred in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 1546 Marion-Mount Gilead Road. Bailey said the incident was nearly identical, however, in the second incident the suspect successfully managed to take the woman's purse.
No one was injured during the incidents.
Marion County Prosecutor Jim Slagle said a person accused purse snatching could face a third-degree felony count of robbery, based on the fact that a theft offense occurred as a
result of the physical force of pulling the purse away from the victim. The charge is punishable by a sentence of one to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
