A little over a decade ago, when my dad was still a LEO, he was visiting a buddy of his that is a LEO over towards Orlando. This was back right after the first Gulf War when Martin Marietta in Orlando was working on some next-gen night vision systems. It was pretty late at night and they heard a chopper flying by at a good rate of speed, so my dad's buddy thought it would be kind of cool to clock the chopper with his radar gun. As soon as he lit it up, the chopper banked, gained altitude and came right at them. It was an Apache. It stopped about 100 feet away and hovered about 30 feet off the ground. My dad said they were just standing there as the nose gun swivelled back and forth as the pilot looked at them before peeling off. I can only imagine what went through that pilot's mind when he was flying along and got nailed by a radar lock! My dad told me what went through his mind, but it would be inappropriate to post it here!
