Annual Christmas cold....recommended remedies?
My annual Christmas cold is here. Oh Joy.
And as usual, my sinuses have turned to faucets that are always flowing at maximum output. So, I implore you fine people, my online gun friends, to tell me your best recommended remedies to dry up my sinuses. What works for you folks? I will try anything at all.
And I wish all a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years!

Bummer. I've got one too, and can only sleep once I've applied a kleenex into the runniest nostril. Now I've got this sucky cough, but sitting in the bathroom with a hot shower running for abour 30minutes (til we run out of hot water) helps that.

I'm not a big fan of "natural" cures, but that Airborne stuff sure works good for me! One tablet in water three times a day and you'll feel better sooner than you think.

Thera Flu is the best thing on earth!!!
Why walk softly and carry a
BIG stick when a
BIG GUN is more efficient and you can walk however you want to?

Well, back in college a nice long conversation with my good friend Jack always seemed to help.
A 20km hump with about 100 pounds clears ya out real good too.
Or just some Nyquil, lots of fluids, and sleep can do the job if thats more up your alley.

Whiskey seems to be one of the popular remedies. Unlucky for me, I don't drink.
Theraflu will be the next thing I try.

Dang, Mike, sorry. Here in Kansas the 24 hour bug is going 24 days. At my work, it's walking wounded, get from sick, to just puny, and it hits again. I finally wound up with a Nyquil hangover, think it got my blood pressure way up. Got me some Zicam at Wally, zincs and vit c. It has done a great job with symptoms, a little Makers Mark at night helped me rest.

My brother says that X-Lax works. It doesn't cure anything, but you sure will think twice before you sneeze...

I take one-half of a vitamin c tablet daily. When I feel the first cold-like symptom I take a whole tablet daily until I begin to feel better, then go back to the one-half's.
Also at the first symptom I follow the old......(1) drink plenty of fluids, (2) take aspirin, (3) rest <---the most important
I've noticed if I continued working with my cold I'd stay sick longer, if I take off at the first symptom and take it easy it doesn't last as long. Do all of these at the very first onset of the cold and I believe you can lessen the symptoms. If you let it fully develop then it's much harder to deal with. I haven't had a bad cold in years.
I have used Flonase (needs an Rx) for nasal congestion, it works pretty good.
