Does the ability to shoot make women more desirable?

I was at an IPSC match. In my group was an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 16 year old girl who shot better than 90% of the men there. I asked her about boys. She said that she has no trouble attracting guys, duh, but once they found out she was a shooter they all ran for the hills.

For the men: Does the ability to shoot make a woman more desirable? (Even if you are married, you can answer that one.)

For the women: How do men react when they find out that you shoot?

For the most part it doesn't matter to me. That my wife is now becoming interested in shooting makes me even happier but I felt blessed to be married to her even when she didn't shoot.

And no, she is not looking over my shoulder. I really feel that way.

    16? Shame on you!
Women who shoot turn me on! Except for an incident years ago after I taught my ex-wife how to shoot. I happened to come home a little too late one night, and as I snuck into my bedroom, I heard the deafening click of a S&W .357 being cocked.

As a firearms instructor, I always enjoyed teaching women. Most had no pre-conceived Rambo attitudes, nor any ingrained bad habits.

Yes, a woman who shoots is more desirable in my mind, but ugly is still ugly.

    Fair question. Simple answer:

    YOUBECHA!!

My lovely wife has recently taken up shooting w/me & turned our Fri Nite into "Date Nights" and watching her shoot, well... made me realize just how lucky I am. Been married close to 12 yrs now, & it just keeps getting better.

Shooting's a skill, like any other. My view is that intellectual and practical integrity that a person has that drives them to pursue and achieve new knowledge and skills are the traits that make such things attractive to me. I don't really care if a person can do a given task. What I care is that the person's willing to put it on the line when it comes to the desire to learn, to acquire a skill that's needed but missing, to improve. Without that, it's all a farce and a sham. But with that, the underlying motivation and passion very often shines through, in the end likely becoming quite a skill indeed.

    Let's see...

How about a female who shoots regularly, has a concealed carry permit, and drives a lifted 4x4 with a manual transmission.

Well, 2 out of three ain't bad. My wife got broke in the Army, and can't drive a stick shift anymore.

    Sorry boys, she's all mine!

My wife is a qualified shooter and performs better than me with most of my weapons (I can't believe I just admitted that) and at 50, she is hottie. YES, I am blessed also.

i go to a college where the LARGE majority of the students are guys.
90% of the girls that are there are only there to find guys, and are extremely overweight.
i am the only female range officer at our school. and also the only female that is on the range regularly (a few guys managed to drag their girlfriends down now and then). i am also thin and getting my degree in engineering.

still wondering? yea. i get drooled over all the time.
thankfully i get to give them a smile and say sorry im taken.

Perhaps, having someone who like similar things helps a relationship. that said, I found my girlfriend working in a local gun/ hunting store.

Cupcake - you realize that covers all hair colors right? What about baldness?

I don't think it factors in for me. Not that it would matter. (Happily Married)

Does the ability to shoot make woman more desirable?
    to me, absolutely

however, i can understand where the girlie men that are scared of guns might feel their masculinity is challenged.
War is not the ugliest of things. Worse is the decayed state of moral feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which he cares for more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free. -J.S. Mill
